Bonnie Raitt fills blanks in tour schedule

Since announcing last month her plans for a summer tour, singer/songwriter Bonnie Raitt has added a slew of new dates to her itinerary, and has extended the run into the fall.

Raitt has filled July, August and September gaps in her schedule with more than a dozen additional concerts, and has also added a handful of October engagements. Details are included below

As previously reported, bluesman Keb' Mo' will hold down the tour's opening slot.

Raitt's backing band for the tour includes bassist Hutch Hutchinson, who has been with Raitt for over 20 years; drummer Ricky Fataar (Beach Boys, The Rutles), who's been playing with her on and off since 1982; guitarist/keyboardist George Marinelli (Bruce Hornsby and the Range), who's been playing with her on and off since 1993; and keyboardist Jon Cleary (Eric Clapton, Taj Mahal), whose New Orleans-based band The Absolute Monster Gentlemen has previously supported Raitt on tour.

Released last September, "Souls Alike" is Raitt's 18th album overall, and is her first self-produced collection.

Last month, VH1 began airing an edition of its "Decades Rock Live!" series that features Raitt performing with Norah Jones, Ben Harper, Alison Krauss and Keb' Mo'. The show, which was recorded last September in Atlantic City, is scheduled to air again on Tuesday (5/16), according to Raitt's website.

Keb' Mo' is scheduled to drop his latest set, titled "Suitcase," on June 13. He co-produced the disc with longtime collaborator John Porter (B.B. King, Los Lonely Boys), according to a press release.
