'American Idol' finalists join forces for tour

The last nine finalists to be eliminated from this season's in-progress "American Idol" competition still have something to look forward to: they'll all appear on this summer's American Idols Live arena tour, as will this season's winner.

Plans call for the 10 "Idol" contestants to launch the run in early July and play arenas in almost 40 cities by the time they wrap things up in early September. Tickets for all but three shows will hit the box office on May 20. Those for the Boston-area and Pittsburgh stops are set for a May 19 release, and those for the tour's Anaheim stop will surface on May 21. Details are included below.

Though this season's "American Idol" winner has not yet been selected, the pack has been thinned enough that the pool of 10 artists participating in the tour has been confirmed: Paris Bennett, Bucky Covington, Chris Daughtry, Taylor Hicks, Mandisa, Katharine McPhee, Kellie Pickler, Lisa Tucker, Elliot Yamin and Ace Young.

Of the 10 aforementioned hopefuls, Bennett, Daughtry, Hicks, McPhee and Yamin are the only ones still vying for this season's "American Idol" title.

One of the five remaining finalists will be eliminated on Wednesday's episode (5/3) of "American Idol," which airs on FOX-TV. This season's winner will be named during the May 24 season finale.
