The day before Huff died, he had participated in a build-a-drum workshop for children, which inspired the organizers of the 2009 Vans Warped Tour [ tickets ] to bring a build-a-drum workshop out on the road.
More than 30 bands on this year's tour participated in building a custom painted drum to be auctioned for the Prader-Willi Syndrome Association, which is made up of families and professionals working together to promote and fund research, provide education, and offer support to enhance the quality of life of those affected by the syndrome.
In addition to the previously mentioned acts, participating bands included Anti Flag, Cute Is What We Aim For, Saosin, The A.K.A.s, The White Tie Affair, Senses Fail, Underoath, NOFX, POS, ArturoVega/Ramones and Therefore I Am, among others.
For a look at the custom drums--and to support the cause--visit the charity auction on eBay. Additional information about Prader-Willi Syndrome can be found at the PWSA website.
All funds raised will be donated to PWSA for medical research in Christopher Huff's name.
