Travis Tritt [ tickets ] has added a handful of dates to his in-progress US tour, stretching the list of sporadic shows into mid-September.

The country star, who spent several days on the road in February and March, will pick back up April 18 in Shreveport, LA, and head to five Midwest cities through the end of that month. Nine new dates have been added to the itinerary since last check, including stops in Carlton, MN (4/26); Henderson, NV (5/15); and Essex Junction, VT (7/19). The current agenda concludes with a Sept. 18 performance at the Wagon Wheel Festival in Lake Elsinore, CA. Details are below.

Tritt continues touring in support of "The Storm," his most recent studio effort, which dropped in August 2007. The country/soul album, produced by American Idol judge and Grammy winner Randy Jackson, peaked at No. 3 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart, and includes guest performers Charlie Daniels and Kenny Wayne Shepherd. The record's first single, "You Never Take Me Dancing," earned the country singer his 40th Top 40 single of his career.

The two-time Grammy winner recently announced a free concert April 20 at the legendary Antone's nightclub in Austin, TX, to commemorate Earth Day, which will be observed nationwide April 19. The performance will be one of 10 national events collectively known as the Green Apple Festival. Volunteers who donate time and energy to environmental projects organized by the Green Apple Festival throughout the 10 cities will be thanked with free entrance into the scheduled shows.
