They Might Be Giants Replace Barenaked Ladies On Disney Tour

They Might Be Giants are set to replace Barenaked Ladies on the Long Island, NY, dates of the first annual Disney Music Block Party Tour Aug. 22-24. The Canadian pop act canceled its appearances after singer/guitarist Steven Page was arrested with his 27-year-old girlfriend in New York on charges of possessing cocaine.

"They Might Be Giants are actually rearranging their schedule so they can join us in New York as well," said Chip McLean, senior vice president and general manager of Buena Vista Concerts at Disney Music Group. "They're very fun to work with. The Barenaked Ladies thing was obviously completely unexpected and unfortunate but the Giants stepped up and were really awesome to offer to come and join us."

They Might Be Giants are also scheduled to play the Toms River, NJ (July 25-27), and Columbia, MD (July 29-30), shows.

If convicted, Page could land up to 15 years in a US prison.
