For the second time this year, The Pretenders [ tickets ] will take to the road in support of their recently released album "Break Up the Concrete," accompanied this go-round by Cat Power [ tickets ] and Juliette Lewis [ tickets ].

The English rockers--fronted by Ohio native Chrissie Hynde--will kick off the run with a two-night stand Aug. 4-5 in Rama, Ontario, and continue along the East Coast through the middle of that month. The slate of 22 dates ventures through the Midwest before finishing up with a few California appearances in early September.

Cat Power and Juliette Lewis will provide opening support for the tour, unless noted otherwise in the schedule below.

"Break Up the Concrete," which surfaced in October, marks the rock veterans' ninth studio set and first album of new material since 2002's "Loose Screw." The record debuted at No. 32 on The Billboard 200 and spawned the singles "Boots of Chinese Plastic" and "Love's a Mystery."

Cat Power--born Chan Marshall--last released "Jukebox," which hit shelves early last year. That record is her second album of cover songs and pays tribute to a handful of vocalists, including Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Billie Holliday and Janis Joplin. Following the tour, the songstress will begin working on a new album of original material that will be available in early 2010, according to a press release.

Juliette Lewis will drop her new album, "Terra Incognita," Sept. 1 on The End Records. The forthcoming set, which features 11 tracks mostly penned by the actress/singer, was produced by Mars Volta frontman Omar Rodriquez-Lopez.
