The Fixx [ tickets ] has added a bevy of dates to its 25th anniversary tour, which gets underway this weekend and runs well into the summer.

The group starts things off with a performance in San Pedro, CA, on Saturday (5/15), which will also feature fellow '80s-era hitmakers Berlin. Subsequent U.S. stops are set through mid-August.

In addition to marking its anniversary, the band is supporting its most-recent album, last fall's "Want That Life."

In a recent message posted at its website, The Fixx corrected reports that it was planning to release a new version of its mid-'90s song "Election."

"The plan behind this is simply a promotional release for news radio and television to pick up as incidental music to use while America is in its throes of politics this fall," reads the message. "This is not a newly re-recorded version, as had been mentioned in the press, but the same recording found on the CD 'Happy Landings and Lost Tracks.'"

The group went on to say that it would release the song commercially if it is "picked up by music stations."

The Fixx's lineup features original members Cy Curnin (vocals), Jamie West-Oram (guitar), Rupert Greenall (keyboards) and Adam Woods (drums); bassist Gary Tibbs, who joined the group in 2001, rounds out the quintet.

Formed in London in 1979, The Fixx is best known for the hits "Saved By Zero," "Red Skies," "Stand or Fall" and "One Thing Leads to Another."
