Sting readies 'Winter' release
Sting will release a new album this fall that is dedicated to the musician's favorite season, winter, according to a statement on his website.
"If On A Winter's Night ..." will feature a collection of songs, carols and lullabies, as well as two original compositions. On the album, Sting and guest musicians interpret traditional music of the British Isles, including a Newcastle ballad, an English "begging" song and a 14th century carol.
The original compositions featured on the album--"Lullaby for an Anxious Child" and "The Hounds of Winter"--previously were released on Sting's "Mercury Falling."
"If On A Winter's Night ..." will be available in the US on Oct. 27.
