Second death reported in French stage collapse

A second worker reportedly died Friday (7/17) from injuries he suffered during a stage collapse at Marseille, France's Velodrome stadium, where preparations had been underway for a planned Madonna concert.

According to reports, the second fatality was a British citizen who worked for promoter Live Nation. A French worker had died Thursday in the stage collapse.

Meanwhile, French authorities have mounted an investigation to try to determine the cause of the accident.

As previously reported, four cranes were lifting the roof of the stage when it became unbalanced. Once of the cranes toppled, falling onto the under-construction stage.

Madonna had been scheduled to perform at the 60,000-seat Velodrome Sunday (7/19). That show, part of her "Sticky and Sweet" world tour, has been canceled.
