Robin Williams postpones "Self-Destruction"

Robin Williams has postponed the remainder of the tour dates for his one-man show, "Weapons of Self-Destruction," to undergo heart surgery, according to a statement posted on his website.

Williams was in Florida when he announced the cancellation of four shows in that state after experiencing shortness of breath. When the 57-year-old actor was told he needed an aortic valve replacement, the remainder of dates on his 80-city tour were put on hold. A spokesperson said the tour, which kicked off in September, is expected to resume in the fall.

"I'm so touched by everyone's support and well wishes," Williams said in a statement. "This tour has been amazing fun and I can't wait to get back out on the road after a little tune-up."

Tickets will be honored for the new dates, or can be refunded at their point of purchase.
