Puddle of Mudd preps for 'Love & Hate' fall run

Rockers Puddle of Mudd will take on a slew of theater and arena shows this fall in anticipation of their fourth studio effort, "Volume 4: Songs in the Key of Love & Hate."

The Los Angeles-based outfit will climb aboard the tour bus for an Oct. 22 concert in San Antonio, followed by nine performances scattered throughout the nation. The trip winds down with a Dec. 4 show in Estero, FL. Details are shown below.

"Volume 4: Songs in the Key of Love & Hate," the follow-up to POM's 2007 release, "Famous," will hit retailers Dec. 8. The group recorded the forthcoming set in Vancouver and Los Angeles with producers Brian Howes John Kurzweg, both of whom helped on previous albums, and Brian Virtue.

"Even though we hate messing with success, we felt adding newcomer Brian Virtue to the producer mix would be a welcome change," frontman Wes Scantlin said in a press release. "What we got is 10 tracks of exactly what we were looking for."

The first single from Volume 4, "Spaceship," will be available via Amazon.com and iTunes on Oct. 27. The band hired Petro Papahadjopoulos to create the song's video, which will include guest appearances by Nitro Circus--action sport legends Travis Pastrana, Jolene Van Vugt, Jim DeChamp, Andy Bell, Erik Roner, "Streetbike" Tommy Passemante, Jeremy Rawle, Gregg Godfrey and Hubert Rowland.

Puddle of Mudd was one of the first acts signed to Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst's label, Flawless Records. The band's 2001 debut, "Come Clean," sold more than 5 million copies and spawned four radio hits: "Control," "Drift & Die," "She Hates Me" and "Blurry," the latter of which was the most-played song of 2002, according to a press release.
