Phish to play acoustic set at Festival 8

Phish will play its first full-length acoustic set at Festival 8, a three-day Phish festival scheduled for Oct. 30 through Nov. 1 at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, CA, according to a statement posted at the band's website.

The acoustic set--one of eight Phish sets during the weekend--will take place at high noon on Sunday (11/01). Coffee and donuts will be served.

In addition to the acoustic set, Festival 8 will for the first time combine two Phish traditions--a multi-day camping festival and a Halloween performance. The band will maintain its Halloween tradition and don a music-themed costume on Halloween night and cover another band's album.

Phish has previously covered The Beatles' White Album, The Who's "Quadrophenia," Talking Heads' "Remain in Light" and the Velvet Underground's "Loaded," among many others.
