New York Dolls continue reunion with new album, dates
The New York Dolls hit the road next month to begin supporting the second act in their comeback bid, a new album, "Cause I Sez So," which drops in early May.
The legendary glam-rockers kick off the outing May 20 in Solana Beach, CA, and will hit 16 cities on the trek, which runs through mid-June. Dates are below.
"Cause I Sez So," the band's fourth studio album, and second since reuniting in 2005, is due in stores May 5. The album was recorded in Kauai with producer/performer Todd Rundgren behind the boards. Rundgren also produced the band's self-titled 1973 debut album.
"We're really excited to be working with Todd again," lead Doll David Johansen said in a statement. "We're hoping to recapture the same magic on the forthcoming album."
The set follows 2006's "One Day It Will Please Us to Remember Even This," which ended a 32-year silence from the reconstituted band, which features Johansen and guitarist Sylvain Sylvain from its early '70s glory days.
