Alice Cooper
"Along Came a Spider"
(Steamhammer)

The legendary shock-rocker returns with his 25th studio album. "Along Came a Spider" reportedly is a concept album that centers on the story of a serial killer named Spider.

The man born Vincent Damon Furnier will support "Spider" by spinning a web's worth of tour dates. The trek launches July 31 in Redmond, OR, and will stretch through a Halloween finale at Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut.

Third Day
"Revelation"
(Sony)

The Christian rockers are set to issue a proper follow-up to 2006's holiday-themed "Christmas Offerings." The band was last heard on a pair of best-of albums released last year: "Chronology Volume 1" and "Chronology Volume 2."

Third Day will support "Revelations" during a co-headlining tour with San Diego alt-rock group Switchfoot. The trek will hit 23 cities from August through September.

Scars on Broadway
"Scars on Broadway"
(Interscope)

This band is a collaboration between two System of a Down members: drummer John Dolmayan and guitarist Daron Malakian, who also produced this eponymous debut CD. The 14-track set was recorded last September and is said to rely less on metal, more on rock, than System of a Down works's material.

Rick Springfield
"Venus in Overdrive"
(New Door)

The Australian-born rock star, who has sold nearly 20 million records to date, is back with a new album. "Venus in Overdrive" follows the 2004 studio set "Shock/Denial/Anger/Acceptance" as well as the 2005 all-covers collection "The Day After Yesterday."

Springfield is best known for the early '80s hit "Jessie's Girl" and for his role as Dr. Noah Drake in the TV soap "General Hospital."

Soulfly
"Conquer"
(Roadrunner)

The Brazilian heavy metal troupe, led by vocalist Max Cavalera, is back with its first new disc since 2005's "Dark Ages." "Conquer" is the group's sixth release on Roadrunner. The first single from the record is the tune "Unleash."
