Nelly, Lil' Kim and Kelly Price Debut in Top 5
Three new releases by rap and R&B artists will debut in the Top 5 on Billboard’s Top 200 album chart this week, while Eminem ’s “The Marshall Mathers LP” and Britney Spears ’ “Oops! … I Did It Again” will remain in the top two slots.
Rap newcomer Nelly claims the No. 3 spot with his debut album “Country Grammar,” which sold roughly 250,000 copies in its first week of release, according to Universal Records.
Fellow rapper Lil’ Kim enters the chart at No. 4 with the release of her sophomore album “Notorious K.I.M.,” while R&B artist Kelly Price rounds out the Top 5 with her latest, “Mirror Mirror.”
Meanwhile, Eminem's “The Marshall Mathers LP” hangs on to the top spot for the sixth consecutive week. Eminem is currently performing on Dr. Dre’s “Up In Smoke” tour.
Spears’ “Oops!” holds steady at No. 2 for the third week in a row. Spears is in the midst of a North American tour, and will head to Europe later this year.
Rounding out the Top 10 is Creed’s “Human Clay” at No. 6, ‘N Sync’s “No Strings Attached” at No. 7, Kid Rock’s “History of Rock” at No. 8, Papa Roach’s “Infest" at No. 9, and the Eric Clapton-B.B. King collaboration “Riding With the King” at No. 10.
