Tommy Lee sidelined from CrueFest 2
Drummer Tommy Lee is sitting out an undisclosed number of CrueFest 2 dates due to a hand injury he suffered last week.
Lee, who reportedly told fans in Detroit Saturday (8/15) that he burned his hand playing with sparklers, still made an appearance despite having his left thumb and forefinger bandaged.
According to Billboard.com, Lee played piano on "Home Sweet Home" and drummed with his right hand on "Girls, Girls, Girls," though Sevendust's Morgan Rose took over the major drumming duties.
"Now to the hero of the day ... Mr. Morgan Rose, the monstrous drummer from Sevendust," Nikki Sixx said in a message posted at his MySpace page. "He came charging in like a knight in shining armor, drum pedals and sticks in hand, stepping onstage and pretty much nailing the show top to bottom first time out."
Rose will continue filling in for Lee on future CrueFest 2 dates. The second annual road trip kicked off late last month and continues through a Sept. 5 performance in Darien Lake, NY.
