Motley Crue settles management imbroglio
A legal battle between a former manager of Motley Crue singer Vince Neil and a manager for the rest of the band has found its way to a settlement, ending a year of lawsuits in various venues.
The Nashville Post reports that Burt Stein, who heads the Nashville office of Gold Mountain Entertainment, tangled with current Crue manager Alan Kovac over whether Stein was entitled to a cut of revenues. Kovac argued that Stein had been fired as Neil's manager and thus had no grounds for any collection.
The band issued a statement about the settlement.
"Motley Crue, its lead singer Vince Neil, the band's manager Allen Kovac and his management company 10th Street Entertainment have reached an out-of-court settlement of the pending litigation in Los Angeles, Nashville and Las Vegas with longtime Vince Neil personal manager and prior Motley Crue co-manager, Burt Stein and his management companies, B Entertainment and Gold Mountain Entertainment Nashville. All parties are pleased that the litigation has been amicably resolved."
The latest iteration of Cruefest--featuring Motley Crue's still-reunited original lineup along with Godsmack, Theory of a Deadman, Drowning Pool and Charm City Devils--kicked off July 19 in Camden, NJ. Joining the trend of playing classic-rock albums in their entirety, the Crue marked the 20th anniversary of its album "Dr. Feelgood" with a full run-through combined with a collection of their better-known hits.
The tour continues into September.
