Marilyn Manson: 'I have swine flu'; Manson's reps: 'No, he doesn't'
Ever-controversial shock-rocker Marilyn Manson announced online earlier this week that he had been diagnosed with swine flu, but reps for the singer have since denied that claim.
"So I have officially been diagnosed, by a real doctor, with THE SWINE FLU," Manson wrote in message posted on his Facebook page, various outlets reported. "I know everyone will suggest that f---ing a pig is how this disease was obtained. However, the doctor said my past choices in women have in no way contributed to me acquiring this mysterious sickness. Unfortunately, I am going to survive."
By today (9/25), however, Manson's swine-flu revelation--the beginning of which still appears in his Twitter feed--was removed from his Facebook page, and promoters for the singer's in-progress Canadian tour were apparently doing damage control.
According to the Canadian Press, Gillett Entertainment Group and Live Nation have denied that Manson has the illness, and have confirmed that he will be playing his two remaining Canadian tour dates: tonight in Halifax and tomorrow night in Moncton, New Brunswick.
Manson has been working the road in support of his latest album, "The High End of Low," which surfaced in May.
