Lyle Lovett unleashes 'Forces' on fall trek
Lyle Lovett will head out on the road in October with a new studio album to show off to fans, "Natural Forces," which is set to surface next month.
The veteran performer and multiple-Grammy-winner will kick off the headlining stretch Oct. 26 in Orange, TX, following his latest co-billed run with singer/songwriter John Hiatt, which kicks off Oct. 6 in Albuquerque, NM, and closes with an Oct. 18 show in Tacoma, WA.
The headlining trek will take Lovett through late November, winding up with a Nov. 24-25 engagement in Fort Worth, TX. Details are included below.
Lovett recorded "Natural Forces," due in stores Oct. 20, with his Large Band, and with co-production from longtime collaborator Billy Williams. The album is the 12th full-length effort of Lovett's career.
"Natural Forces" includes four Lovett originals, along with covers of seven tunes by Texas songwriters, including Eric Taylor’s "Whooping Crane," Vince Bell's "Sun and Moon and Stars" and Townes Van Zandt's "Loretta."
The set follows 2007's "It's Not Big It's Large," which features the Lovett's Large Band on a variety of country, blues, folk, jazz and gospel songs. The set peaked at No. 18 on The Billboard 200.
