Lonestar readies album, rounds up tour dates
Lonestar is gearing up for this month's release of its ninth studio album, and is laying out dates for a fall tour behind the set.
Titled "Mountains," the new set--which has already spawned a hit single of the same name--is due in stores Oct. 17. The collection marks Lonestar's third studio album in as many years, coming on the heels of last year's "Coming Home" and 2004's "Let's Be Us Again."
The group enlisted producer Mark Bright to oversee the making of "Mountains." It was the band's first time working with Bright, whom frontman Richie McDonald said played a significant role in shaping the album.
"Working with Mark Bright was a turning point for us, because he pushed us to record passionate songs that we all believed in," McDonald said in a press release.
"I feel like this band is stronger than ever," keyboardist Dean Sams added. "This album has breathed yet another breath of fresh air into us as we still have so much more left to say."
Fans can check out the title track from "Mountains" at Lonestar's MySpace page.
