Living Colour's tour itinerary continues to grow
Living Colour , which is touring in support of its first new album in a decade, has added more dates to the run.
The group has filled most of the blanks in its November schedule, and has extended the itinerary into early December. Among the new dates are stops in Seattle, Chicago, Philadelphia, New York City and Washington, DC.
Last month, Living Colour released "Collideoscope," the group's first new studio set since 1993's "Stain." The band--guitarist Vernon Reid, drummer Will Calhoun, singer Corey Glover and bassist Doug Wimbish--started work on the album after several rounds of touring that followed a December 2000 reunion performance at New York City's CBGB's. That show came about after Calhoun--who decided that he didn't want to be "sitting around with regret at age 60," according to a statement--phoned Reid and invited him to sit in with Headfake, a drum-and-bass side project that occasionally featured Glover.
Living Colour burst onto the rock scene in 1988 with the hit single "Cult of Personality," featured on the group's double-platinum debut album, "Vivid." The song peaked at No. 9 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Tracks chart in May of 1989, and went on to win a GRAMMY® for Best Hard Rock Performance.
The group followed that success with 1990's "Time's Up," and snagged its second Best Hard Rock performance GRAMMY for the album's title track.
"Stain" followed in 1993, and work had just begun on a fourth LP when Reid announced that he was pursuing other interests, and that the group was disbanding.
