Korn continues 'Escape From the Studio'

Alt-metal outfit Korn will continue its "Escape From the Studio 2009" US tour this summer once the band returns from its in-progress European leg.

The stateside run, which first got underway in April, will continue July 18 in Milwaukee, along with a stop the following night at Rock Fest in Cadott, WI. The Grammy Award-winning group will then move through the Midwest on its way to the East Coast, concluding Sept. 25 in Centre Hall, PA. Details are below.

The agenda also includes a special July 31 performance at Chicago's Toyota Park. The outdoor concert is open to all ages, with tickets--set at a reasonable $10--went on sale Saturday (6/27) via Ticketmaster. (LiveDaily is an operating unit of Ticketmaster Entertainment, which also owns Ticketmaster.)

"We like to get close to our fans, so we are excited to play an intimate venue like Toyota Park," frontman Jonathan Davis said in a press release. "And, since Chicago has some of the best fans in the country, we know when we there it's on!"

The California-based rockers have been working on their ninth studio album with producer Ross Robinson, who helmed the group's first two releases. The new and still-untitled set will be the first since new drummer Ray Luzier joined the band fulltime. He's been touring with Korn since original drummer David Silveria bowed out in 2006.

"It's gonna be very raw, it's gonna be old school like the first Korn records," Davis told The Pulse of Radio earlier this year. "We really want to get back to that old-school vibe."

No word yet on when the forthcoming album will hit the streets.

Korn's most recent release, the band's untitled eighth studio album, surfaced last July and reached No. 2 on The Billboard 200, its ninth consecutive album debut in the chart's Top 10.
