Kenny Loggins bounces around US into next year
Grammy-winning singer/songwriter Kenny Loggins continues to support his latest album with a handful of scattered dates running into next spring.
The performer has a two-night stand scheduled next week in Stateline, NV, and will follow that with a December gig in Bossier City, LA. So far, his 2008 itinerary shows January engagements in Rancho Cucamonga, CA, and Mescalero, NM, as well as a May concert in San Rafael, CA. Details are listed below.
Last spring, Loggins released "How About Now," a set of 12 original tracks including a new version of the 1973 Loggins & Messina hit "A Love Song." A sampling of tunes from the album are streaming at Loggins' MySpace page.
"How About Now" is among the inaugural slate of titles released as part of the Spotlight Music Series--a line of adult contemporary albums from 180 Music that is available exclusively through retail chain Target.
Loggins' last set of all-new material was 2003's "It's About Time." In 2005, he joined with former partner Jim Messina for "The Best: Sittin' in Again" album, which was released in conjunction with the Loggins & Messina reunion tour. It was the first time the duo had toured together in nearly 30 years. A live album capturing a Loggins & Messina performance in Santa Barbara, CA, followed.
Known for his roots-rock/country sound, Loggins has scored 12 platinum-album awards and enjoyed hit singles in four straight decades, according to his bio. In the '80s, he became the king of the movie theme songs, pumping out hits including "I'm Alright" for "Caddyshack," "Footloose" for the film of the same name, "Danger Zone" for "Top Gun," and "Nobody's Fool" for "Caddyshack II."
