Jam Cruise Sails In January

Jam Cruise 7 will set sail from Fort Lauderdale, FL, Jan. 4, 2009, for five days of music featuring Les Claypool , Medeski, Martin & Wood, Michael Franti and Keller Williams , among others.

The seventh incarnation of the floating festival--on board the MSC Orchestra--offers passengers a "backstage pass" experience coupled with all the luxuries of an elegant cruise ship including swimming pools, nightclubs, a Turkish bath, Jacuzzis, restaurants, theaters, a jogging track, shopping areas and more, according to a press release.

The MSC Orchestra, which features nearly 800 cabins with ocean view balconies, is scheduled to stop in Belize City, Belize, and Costa Maya, Mexico. Cabins are now available via www.jamcruise.com.

The extensive lineup also includes Droll and Sipe, Galactic Cruise Crew (featuring Big Sam, Walter "Wolfman" Washington and Trombone Shorty), Leftover Salmon, Karl Denson's Tiny Universe, Martin Sexton, The New Deal, Ivan Neville's Dumpstaphunk, Grace Potter & The Nocturnals, and Garage a Trois, among others. Additional artists are still to be announced.
