There are few hardcore rap groups with more street cred than Wu-Tang Clan . So notorious is the crew that legend has it an FBI informant was once planted in the circle of group members RZA , Method Man , Ghostface Killah , Raekwon , GZA, Masta Killa, U-God , Inspectah Deck , and the late Ol' Dirty Bastard . In contrast, the name "Wu-Tang" was inspired by the enlightend spirituality of the Taoist culture--specifically the Hubei Province in China, home of the Wu Dang Mountain.

Formed in 1993, the New York group has achieved massive success as a whole and as solo acts. In addition, the members apparently helped support approximately 300 affiliates in the genre--affectionately known as the "Wu-Tang Killa Bees."

In support of their 2007 release "8 Diagrams," Wu-Tang Clan kicked off a 30 city tour last month and plan to be on the road until mid January.

LiveDaily's Tim Mosenfelder caught the rappers in San Francisco last year when they headlined Rock The Bells, and here are some of the photos he took.
