update: Everlast [ tickets ], who later this month will hit the road on a headlining jaunt in support of "Eat At Whitey's" (Tommy Boy), has added a handful of dates to his itinerary that extend the run into early March. Texas-based rock quintet Dexter Freebish has been tapped for the tour's opening slot.

“Eat at Whitey’s” was released in October, and was certified gold last month by the Recording Industry Association of America for shipping 500,000 copies. The album is the follow-up to the double-platinum 1998 release, “Whitey Ford Sings the Blues.”

“I Can’t Move,” the second single from “Eat at Whitey’s” was recently released to radio, and a video for the song is expected in the next few weeks, according to Everlast’s official website. The site also indicated that Everlast will appear on Run D.M.C.’s forthcoming album “Crown Royal” (Arista), which is due out in the spring.

Tommy Boy Records’ official Everlast website is currently offering a free download of a track titled “Whitey’s Revenge,” Everlast's response to jabs leveled at him by controversial rapper Eminem.

Dexter Freebish, a rock outfit hailing from Austin, Texas, released its major label debut, “A Life of Saturdays” (Capitol), in September.
