Elvis Costello celebrates 'Sugarcane' with in-store gigs

In honor of the recent release of "Secret, Profane & Sugarcane," Elvis Costello will make two in-store appearances in one day at California locations of Amoeba Music.

The free performances, dubbed the "Amoeba Music Tour," will take place June 22 in San Francisco (12 p.m. PT) and later that evening (8 p.m. PT) in Hollywood.

Costello, accompanied by Grammy-winning singer/songwriter Jim Lauderdale , will perform acoustic set and autograph copies of his new album for fans.

To mark the occasion, a limited number of commemorative silk-screened posters will be given away with the purchase of "Secret, Profane & Sugarcane" at the events.

Amoeba will stream the Hollywood in-store performance beginning at 8 p.m. PT on the record store's website, while a crew will shadow Costello, documenting the day for viewing at the store's website following the one-day marathon.

"Secret, Profane & Sugarcane" hit shelves June 2 and is expected to debut in the Top 20 on The Billboard 200 tomorrow, according to Billboard.com.

Costello is in the midst of a quick seven-date run that continues tonight (6/9) in Red Bank, NJ, and wraps up June 19 in Telluride, CO.
