Dave Grohl, Josh Homme, John Paul Jones form Them Crooked Vultures

Three esteemed rock musicians-- Foo Fighters ' Dave Grohl, Queens of the Stone Age's Josh Homme and Led Zeppelin's John Paul Jones --have joined together to form Them Crooked Vultures and will make their debut at a Chicago club this weekend.

The supergroup will take the stage at Chicago's Metro Sunday (8/9) following the wrap of the final day of Lollapalooza.

Rumors about the possible team-up have been circulating since a 2005 interview with Mojo magazine in which Grohl suggested the possibility in a not-so-subtle comment.

"The next project that I'm trying to initiate involves me on drums, Josh Homme on guitar and John Paul Jones playing bass," Grohl said. "That's the next album. That wouldn't suck."

Details about the hard-rock trio are limited, as Them Crooked Vulture's website, after entering an email address, leads to the statement "Deserve the future" and links to the group's MySpace, Twitter and Facebook accounts.
