Datarock maps North American headlining tour
Dance-punk duo Datarock will stream their live act onto the road later this summer in support of the pair's latest studio set, "Red."
The Norwegian duo of Fredrik Saroea and Ketil Mosnes will launch the trek with a six-city Canadian stretch, kicking off Aug. 28 in Montreal, before moving into the US with a Sept. 10 show in Minneapolis. The 25-city outing concludes Oct. 3 in Seattle. Details are included below.
"Red," the duo's sophomore studio effort, surfaced in June. The music videos for two tracks from the new album, "True Stories" and "Give It Up," are currently streaming at the band's MySpace page.
"You can point at the early '80s and say 'personal computers!', 'information society!', 'cultural relativism!'" Saroea said in the duo's bio. "What I wanted to do with the whole album was to say this day and age is just as interesting as the early '80s."
The set follows the duo's 2005 debut album, "Datarock Datarock," which saw its initial US release two years later, including four new tracks and three music videos that don't appear on the European versions, according to a press release.
