Cute Is What We Aim For to headline Take Action! Tour

Alt-rockers Cute Is What We Aim For top the list of acts announced for the 2009 edition of Hopeless Records' annual charity Take Action! Tour.

Other names tapped for the outing include Meg & Dia , Breathe Carolina, Every Avenue and Anarbor. Dates and cities for the trek, which looks to get underway in February, will be announced soon, according to organizers,

The tour, now in its eighth year, raises funds and public awareness for youth involvement in charitable action, according to a press release, and organizers have chosen non-profit group DoSomething.org for the second year in a row to benefit from the tour's proceeds.

"Music has always moved generations," DoSomething.org CEO Nancy Lublin said in a statement. "We're psyched to partner with Take Action! We believe that there is a lot of creativity and passion in generation Z (kids under age 25). Their idea of getting involved isn't writing a big check or attending a charity dinner--they actually do stuff."

"It's an awe inspiring opportunity to be a part of such an empathetic tour and cause," added Cute Is What We Aim For lead singer Shaant Hacikyan. "It has endured the years and has remained a staple based on its brilliant fuel: consideration. Knowing that we are able to do what we love and simultaneously lend a helping hand is a beautiful thing. We are beyond thrilled to be a part Take Action!"

Earlier Take Action lineups have included Every Time I Die, Avenged Sevenfold, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Jimmy Eat World, Thrice, Chiodos, Silverstein, Poison The Well, Sugarcult, Matchbook Romance and The Early November, among many other acts.

Buffalo, NY, natives Cute Is What We Aim For are supporting their second studio release, "Rotation," which dropped into stores in June. The set, which follows the band's 2006 debut, "The Same Old Blood Rush with a New Touch," debuted at No. 21 on The Billboard 200 chart, moving 22,000 copies in its initial sales week, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
