Cursive's spring 'Swollen' with new album, dates
Indie-rockers Cursive will set out on the road next month for a headlining stretch behind the band's forthcoming new studio album, "Mama I'm Swollen."
The Nebraska-based act kicks off the outing March 9 in Brooklyn, NY. Following a second New York appearance the following night, the group jets to the opposite coast for a slate of West Coast-oriented appearances. Details are shown below.
"Mama I'm Swollen," which hits stores March 10, is the band's sixth studio album. The new set follows the band's 2006 release, "Happy Hollow," which the group's frontman, Tim Kasher, co-produced with Mike Mogis (Bright Eyes, Rilo Kiley). The set was the band's first release without cellist Gretta Cohn, whose work figured heavily on the group's previous album, 2003's "The Ugly Organ."
Free downloads of various mp3s from "Happy Hollow" and earlier Cursive releases are available at the band's website.
Kasher's side project, The Good Life, released its fourth album, "Help Wanted Nights," in 2007.
