Cursive readies new album, plots headlining dates
Indie-rockers Cursive plan to hit the road early next month to preview material for the band's follow-up to last year's "Happy Hollow."
The Nebraskans kick off the outing Jan. 14 in Minneapolis, traveling to Chicago (1/16) and New York City (1/19) on the tour before wrapping up with a pair of hometown shows in Omaha, NE, Jan. 23 and 24. The complete schedule is below.
The band continues to support its 2006 release, "Happy Hollow." The album, co-produced by frontman Tim Kasher and producer Mike Mogis (Bright Eyes, Rilo Kiley), was the band's first release without cellist Gretta Cohn, whose work figured heavily on the band's previous album, 2003's "The Ugly Organ."
The band is currently "finalizing mixes" on the follow-up to "Happy Hollow," according to a press release, and has posted photos of the recording process on Cursive's official website.
Kasher's side project, The Good Life, released its fourth album, "Help Wanted Nights," last year.
