Crue Fest 2 bulks up, prepares for summer run
With less than a week to go until the tour's official kick-off, organizers of the second annual " Crue Fest 2: The White Trash Circus" tour have added a second stage and more acts to most stops on the nationwide outing.
Beginning July 19 in Camden, NJ, the Motley Crue -led excursion will hit the road, stopping by amphitheaters in 32 cities from coast to coast. Only one date--July 24 in Minot, SD--will feature the veteran rockers solo, while the remaining shows will include Godsmack, Theory of a Deadman, Drowning Pool and Charm City Devils. The full schedule is outlined below.
The additional stage, sponsored by Monster Energy, will bring five additional bands onto the tour: Rev Theory, Cavo, Shram, 16 Second Stare and one act chosen locally in select markets. Four festival stops--Ridgefield, WA (7/28); Las Vegas (8/1); Kansas City, MO (8/9); and Syracuse, NY (9/3)--will not feature the second stage, according to a press release.
"It's always been in our hearts to turn our fans on to new rock music," the members of Motley Crue said in a prepared statement. "Another stage seems to be just what the doctor ordered for Crue Fest 2 and gives loyal Crue and rock fans more for their hard-earned money."
Sixx and his Motley Crue--bandmates Tommy Lee, Mick Mars and Vince Neil--are celebrating the 20th anniversary of their first No. 1 album, 1989's "Dr. Feelgood," by playing the release in its entirety at each "Crue Fest 2" gig, along with other hits from the group's extensive repertoire.
