Chevelle adds fall trek behind 'Sci-Fi Crimes'
Alt-rock outfit Chevelle has added a fall run to its current itinerary behind the forthcoming album "Sci-Fi Crimes."
Following the seven remaining dates on the band's in-progress summer trek, Chevelle will take a two-week hiatus before returning to the road for a Sept. 11 show in Nashville. The month-long fall journey will stop by 15 cities throughout the Midwest and eastern half of the US, concluding Oct. 7 in Des Moines, IA. The full schedule is below.
More dates will be added to the schedule in the coming weeks, according to a press release.
"Sci-Fi Crimes," the trio's fifth studio album and follow-up to 2007's "Vena Sera," is due in stores Aug. 31. Fans can pre-order the album at the band's website and instantly receive DRM-free mp3s of three tracks, as well as a digital download of "Sci-Fi Crimes" a week before the physical album's drop date.
The Chicago-based group recorded the new material in a Nashville studio with producer Brian Virtue (Jane's Addiction).
"We have spent a lot of time making these songs something different from past records, without losing the core of our passion," drummer Sam Loeffler said earlier this year on the band's website.
