Briefly: VH1 Rock Honors, Placebo, Carrie Underwood, Tori Amos
Alice in Chains, Queens of the Stone Age, Keane and Nickelback have signed on to perform at next month's VH1 Rock Honors show, which will pay tribute to legendary acts Ozzy Osbourne , Genesis , Heart and ZZ Top.
The event takes place May 12 at Las Vegas' Mandalay Bay Events Center, and a taped version is scheduled to debut May 24 on VH1, according to a press release. Tickets are on sale now via Ticketmaster. (Ticketmaster is LiveDaily's parent company.)
Placebo will unveil its video for the single "Running Up That Hill" next month, the group announced today (4/26) via a press release. In recent weeks, the band had asked fans to submit video footage of themselves singing the song; the finished video will be composed entirely from those submissions.
All of the original fan-submitted footage will be available at the band's Motionbox page, and the finished video will debut May 16 on both the Motionbox page and the group's MySpace page.
Former "American Idol" contestant Carrie Underwood 's "Idol Gives Back" music-video package, which was filmed during her trip to Africa earlier this month and aired on last night's (4/25) "American Idol" charity special, is now available for download exclusively via Apple's iTunes Music Store. Proceeds from the clip, which features Underwood's acoustic rendition of The Pretenders' "I'll Stand By You," will go to the Charity Projects Entertainment Fund (CPEF), which distributes money to other charitable organizations. More information is available at the "Idol Gives Back" website, through which users can make donations.
Tori Amos ' May 1 concert at New York City's Spotlight Live will air live at 8 p.m. ET on Sirius Satellite Radio's The Spectrum Channel (18), according to the satellite-radio provider. Repeat airings are set for May 2 at noon, May 4 at 11 p.m., May 5 at 8 a.m. and May 7 at 12:01 a.m. (all times are Eastern).
Following her performance, Amos will also give an exclusive interview to The Spectrum host Demos.
