Breaking Benjamin embraces 'Dear Agony' with US dates

After a nearly two-year touring hiatus, alt-metal outfit Breaking Benjamin will head out on the first leg of its US outing in support of the recently released "Dear Agony."

The quartet--singer/guitarist Ben Burnley, guitarist Aaron Fink, bassist Mark James and drummer Chad Szeligha--will kick off the trek Nov. 29 in San Antonio, TX, followed by six shows throughout the South and Midwest. The current leg concludes with a Dec. 16 concert in Indianapolis, though more dates are expected in the coming weeks, according to a press release. Details are below.

Rev Theory and Adelitas Way will handle opening duties for the run, with Sick Puppies and The Veer Union also performing on select dates.

"Dear Agony," Breaking Benjamin's fourth studio set, surfaced last month and debuted at No. 4 on The Billboard 200 and at No. 1 on the iTunes album chart. The record marks the band's first collection of new material since 2006's "Phobia."

On the day of the new album's release (9/29), the multi-platinum rockers prepared for the upcoming excursion with a rare acoustic show before a sold-out crowd in their hometown of Wilkes-Barre, PA.

Last month, Breaking Benjamin made three tracks available for download for the Rock Band video game on the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 platforms: "I Will Not Bow," "So Cold" and "The Diary of Jane."
