Bob Mould maps fall trek for 'Life'
Bob Mould has lined up a quick headlining tour this fall as he continues to support his recently released eighth solo album, "Life and Times."
The veteran alt-rocker kicks off the two-week road trip Oct. 5 in Toronto, and has stops in 10 cities scheduled for the outing, which finishes up Oct. 20 in San Diego. Dates are below, and tickets for most of the shows are already on sale. Consult Mould's website for more information.
The performer's new studio effort, "Life and Times," surfaced in April. Mould produced and mixed the album, his eighth full-length solo album since the breakup of his original band, '80s alt-rock icons Husker Du. The record, which follows last year's "District Line," marks the 20th anniversary of Mould's 1989 solo debut, "Workbook."
In addition to the new studio album, Mould recently announced a book contract with Little, Brown and Company to write his memoirs. The singer will collaborate with Michael Azerrad, author of the bestselling "Our Band Could Be Your Life" and "Come As You Are: The Story of Nirvana," on the tome, which is scheduled for publication late next year.
"Who knew I was a book writer? And who knew I had the sense to say, 'No, you have to read the book,'" Mould told an interviewer from the music magazine Magnet recently. "It'll be good, should be an interesting read. I was struggling with it for a long time, but I've learned to let go of it, and now it's just time to get it done."
