Billy Talent plots early 2010 Canadian tour
Canadian post-hardcore rockers Billy Talent will get off to a quick start in 2010, headlining an early year tour of their home country with help from Alexisonfire and Against Me.
For now, the trek kicks off March 10 in Victoria, British Columbia, but the band insists a date in nearby Vancouver is on the radar, according to its website.
Pre-sale tickets for the 19-city outing, which concludes March 28 in Toronto, are available through the band's website. The full itinerary is included below.
The group's latest studio opus, "Billy Talent III," continues a series of eponymous releases that began with the band's self-titled 2003 album, and continued on 2006's "Billy Talent II." The new set, which surfaced this summer, was produced by Brendan O'Brien (AC/DC, Bruce Springsteen).
A deluxe version of "Billy Talent III" includes a second disc with the guitar tracks removed from the songs so that fans can play along at home, along with four demo songs and guitar tabs for the complete album transcribed on a pair of full-size wall posters.
"We thought it was a really great idea and we always have guitar players on our website sharing tabs and talking about guitar playing," bassist Jonathan Gallant told music site UpVenue.com. "We run into other guitarists who tell us they really enjoy playing our songs. We thought it was a great way for people to jam along with it. There's a lot of good musicians out there."
