'American Idols Live!' takes on US arenas
While the ups and downs of the in-progress competition continue, many of the stars of this season's "American Idol" series have their sights set on a lengthy arena tour of North America this summer.
The " American Idols Live !" outing, which will feature season eight's Top 10 contestants, kicks off July 5 in Portland, OR, hitting arenas in major markets throughout the US and parts of Canada. The 50-city run spreads from the West Coast through the South and Midwest before finishing up along the eastern seaboard in mid-September. The tour currently concludes Sept. 15 in Manchester, NH. Details are below.
As the tour plans come together, the show is down to the final seven contestants. Adam Lambert, Allison Iraheta, Anoop Desai, Danny Gokey, Kris Allen, Lil Rounds and Matt Giraud are still in the running for the top spot of "American Idol," while Megan Joy, Michael Sarver and Scott MacIntyre have already been axed from the television show, but will appear on the national tour. Tickets for all shows go on sale May 9.
The "Idol" contestants recently received advice from guest judge Quentin Tarantino as they belted out tunes for the "Songs of the Cinema" episode. The top-rated show will crown the newest "American Idol" winner next month.
