Aimee Mann's Christmas show returns to Los Angeles

Aimee Mann 's annual holiday show will return to the Largo at the Coronet in Los Angeles on Dec. 13-14, according to a press release.

Mann's homage to the Christmas variety shows of days past typically features a mixture of music from her holiday album, "One More Drifter in the Snow." Past shows have featured comedians Paul F. Tompkins, Patton Oswalt and Fred Armisen, along with special "drop-in" guests that have included Jackson Browne, Josh Ritter, Ben Lee and Grant Lee Phillips.

This year's line-up has not been announced, but, according to a statement, Mann is expected to bring back a host of old favorites along with some new faces.

Mann's holiday album, a jumping off point for the variety show, was written to reflect the whole range of emotions that people have around the Christmas season, she said in a statement. The Boston Globe described it best: "For those of us who wrestle with warring impulses--bah-humbug the holidays or succumb to the twinkly lights--Aimee Mann has created an old-fashioned Christmas variety show that reminds us that it's possible to have our cynicism and eat our fruitcake too."
