Aerosmith expected to play Maui
Aerosmith is expected to honor a court settlement to perform a concert on the Hawaiian island of Maui, even though the band canceled the remainder of its tour earlier this month after Steven Tyler fell off the stage and broke his shoulder.
The band agreed to perform a free show on the island as part of a settlement agreement that stemmed from a class-action suit filed in 2007. The suit was brought by ticket-holders who alleged the band pulled out of a sold-out show in Maui in favor of playing a larger concert in Chicago and a private, $1 million gig for Toyota on Oahu.
The band settled the suit earlier this year, agreeing to play a free show on Maui while footing the bill for all out-of pocket expenses that fans incurred due to the cancellation.
Honolulu attorney Jay Handlin, who represented Aerosmith in the class-action suit, said the band will definitely honor its settlement agreement to make-up the show, according to the Honolulu Star-Bulletin.
According to the newspaper, the Maui show will occur "as soon as reasonably possible."
