T.I. crowns headlining tour behind 'King'

Clifford "Tip" Harris, better known as rapper T.I. , continues his headlining tour Thursday (4/27) in Detroit in support of his recently released fourth album, "King."

The Atlanta rapper, who launched his trek last week in Nashville, will make a few appearances in the Midwest before heading out to the West Coast for three Southern California shows, beginning with a May 24 date in Anaheim.

Fellow rapper Yung Joc, whose debut album "New Joc City" hits stores May 23, will open all the remaining shows of T.I.'s tour, while Young Dro, awaiting the June 27 release of his debut CD, "Best Thang Smokin'," will likewise offer support on all the tour's dates save the June 1 performance in New York.

T.I.'s latest album, "King," debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 album chart and passed the half-million mark in sales during its first week of release. The album has also spent the last three weeks in the No. 1 slot on both the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and the Billboard Top Rap Albums chart.

The release follows 2004's "Urban Legend," which the rapper recorded in prison following a three-year sentence for violating terms of an earlier probation.
