Toby Keith spawns new album, more 'Throwdown' dates
Toby Keith has added even more new dates to his ever-expanding "Big Throwdown II" tour, the latest additions coming on the eve of the release of his latest album, "White Trash With Money."
Keith has mapped out several dates in August, kicking off with an Aug 18 show in the Buffalo, NY, area, with further shows running into the month of October.
This latest leg adds several more stops in the Northeast, which Keith had briefly visited during an earlier round in February. Keith will then work his way down the Atlantic Coast and into North Carolina.
The singer's new album, "White Trash With Money," hits stores Tuesday (4/11). The followup to last year's "Honkytonk University," the new album is the first release on Keith's own label, Show Dog.
"This album launches my Show Dog venture," Keith said in a press release. "It's an honest effort and I'm real proud of it. As long as I can continue making music the way I do, I couldn't be happier. I've accomplished everything else."
Many of the 12 songs on the album, which was self-produced by Keith, were written with his frequent writing partner, Scotty Emerick.
"Scotty rides my bus on the tour, so if I get a good idea we can just sit down and write it," Keith said. "If he wasn't around I might play around with it for a couple weeks and eventually write it myself. But when you've got someone around who might spring open that one door that just makes a song fly, all you need is that moment of inspiration and you're off."
