Sevendust gets on the road for 'Next' tour
Currently taking a break after wrapping up a late-winter tour last month, rockers Sevendust are plotting their return to the tour trail for more roadwork behind last year's "Next."
The group launches its next batch of shows in early May, and are so far scheduled to make stops in 14 cities. Details are included below.
Soil and Hourcast will hold down two of the tour's opening slots, and additional acts will be added to the roster, according to WineDark Records.
Released last October, "Next" is Sevendust's first disc for indie label WineDark, with whom the group signed after parting with TVT Records, and is also the group's first set with guitarist Sonny Mayo--formerly of Snot and Amen--who replaced original guitarist Clint Lowery last year.
The new disc features the cuts "Ugly" and "Pieces"--both of which are streaming at the Atlanta-based band's official website--as well as the group's latest single, "Failure," which sits at No. 31 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Tracks chart.
"The message in ["Failure"] is really positive," Mayo said in a statement. "It's about living life thinking you're gonna be a failure, and basing your whole existence on what other people or what another person told you about yourself, and finally coming out and realizing that it's all about inner strength and it doesn't matter what other people think about you. You could shed all the shame and all the guilt that you ever felt about things you did or things you didn't do, and you could truly find the positivity even if you always thought you were going to be a failure."
"Failure" is streaming at WineDark's website.
