Cat Power returns to action in April
After calling off a planned US tour earlier this year due to undisclosed health reasons, Cat Power has lined up another round of shows.
The handful of new dates are scheduled to take place in late April through early May, and support "The Greatest," Cat Power's latest album. A June 16 appearance at Tennessee's Bonnaroo Music Festival is also planned.
Cat Power--a.k.a. Chan Marshall--will be backed on the tour by The Memphis Rhythm Band, an all-star assemblage of Memphis session musicians, including several who appear on "The Greatest."
Marshall recorded "The Greatest" in Memphis last year with a group of veteran session players, including members of the Hi Records house band and Steve Potts, onetime drummer for Booker T and the MGs.
