Roger Waters Shuffles Tour Plans, Assembles Band
Roger Waters ' summer tour has been re-routed to include a second Madison Square Garden date and a change of date for a Providence, R.I. show. The July 16 Raleigh show has been cancelled and will not be rescheduled, according to the tour's booking agent.
Because the tour was re-routed to include the new Madison Square Garden show, the Providence date was pushed to July 16 at the end of the tour. That date was originally set for a show at Raleigh's Alltel Pavilion, but because of the limited time allotted to the tour, the date could not be rescheduled, the booking agent said.
The July 11 show at the Garden went on sale on April 3, and that show and the July 13 show are sold out, according to Columbia Records.
At amphitheater shows, most reserved seats have sold out, leaving lawn seating, the booking agent said.
With the itinerary shaping up, Waters has announced his touring band. He will be joined by guitarist Andy Fairweather-Low (Eric Clapton), guitarist Snowy White (Thin Lizzy), guitarist Doyle Bramhall II (Jimmie Vaughan's Fabulous Thunderbirds), drummer Graham Broad (Procul Harum), keyboardist Jon Carin (The Who), keyboardist Andy Wallace (Robbie Williams) and vocalists Katie Kissoon (Van Morrison) and Susannah Melvoin (Prince).
