Tim McGraw, Faith Hill roll out more 'Soul2Soul II' tour dates
It's the weekend again, which can only mean one thing: Tim McGraw and Faith Hill have added more shows to their "Soul2Soul II" tour itinerary.
New to the couple's schedule are stops in Knoxville, TN; Grand Rapids, MI; Raleigh, NC; Charlotte, NC; Washington, DC; and Milwaukee, as well as a second show in the Detroit area.
Tickets for the new Detroit gig are on sale now, and those for previously announced stops in New York City and Oklahoma City, OK, will hit the box office Saturday (3/11).
A Monday (3/13) on-sale is set for a previously announced second performance in Phoenix, and a March 18 on-sale is in place for the newly added shows in Milwaukee and the Detroit area.
On-sale dates for the other new shows were not available at press time. Details are included in the itinerary below.
Members of Hill's and McGraw's respective fan clubs have access to tickets before the general public. More information is available at the tour's official website.
Hill is backing her 2005 release "Fireflies," which last August entered The Billboard 200 album chart at No. 1. The 14-track set spawned the hit single "Mississippi Girl," as well as "Like We Never Loved at All," a duet with McGraw. Earlier this month, the latter cut earned the couple a Grammy for Best Country Collaboration with Vocals at the 2006 Grammy Awards ceremony.
McGraw is gearing up for the March 28 release of "Tim McGraw Reflected: Hits Vol. 2," a best-of set that also includes the new tracks "When the Stars Go Blue" and "I've Got Friends That Do." His most recent collection of all-new material is 2004's "Live Like You Were Dying."
The married couple made headlines this week when they sounded off about what they see as slow-moving efforts to cleanup the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, according to an ABC News report.
"There's no reason why someone can't go down there who's supposed to be the leader of the free world … and say, 'I'm giving you a job to do and I'm not leaving here until it's done,'" McGraw, a Louisiana native, was quoted as saying. "'And you're held accountable, and you're held accountable, and you're held accountable. This is what I've given you to do, and if it's not done by the time I get back on my plane, then you're fired and someone else will be in your place. '"
Hill--who grew up in Jackson, MS--said she thinks the state of the cleanup effort is "bull----."
"It's a huge, huge problem and it's embarrassing," she reportedly said. "I fear for our country if we can't handle our people [during] a natural disaster ... It doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure out point A to point B ... and they can't even skip from point A to point B. It's just screwed up."
