Pearl Jam to drop new album in May
Pearl Jam 's eighth studio album is headed for stores on May 2, and the band will support the set with a world tour.
The self-titled release will mark Pearl Jam's first new album in four years, and is the band's first for its new label, J Records.
"It's a very special opportunity for us to work with a band that possesses such an historic legacy," J Records founder and BMG US Label Group Chairman Clive Davis said in a press release.
The album's first single, "World Wide Suicide," will be made available to radio stations March 8. It will also be available as a free, unrestricted download via Pearl Jam's official website for two days, beginning at 6 a.m. ET on March 8. On March 14, the digital single will be available for purchase.
Pearl Jam co-produced the album with Adam Kaspar at Studio X in Seattle. Kaspar also co-produced Pearl Jam's 2002 album, "Riot Act." The new album's tracklisting hasn't been revealed.
Details about Pearl Jam's 2006 world tour will be announced later this month, according to J Records.
