Briefly: George Michael, Richard Ashcroft, Korn, Bono
According to British news reports, Michael was discovered by police investigating a report of a man slumped over the steering wheel of a car, and was subsequently charged with possession of class C drugs (which, under British law, includes drugs like marijuana and tranquilizers, as well as certain painkillers).
"It's my own stupid fault, as usual," Michael said in a statement issued Monday (2/27). "I was in possession of class C drugs, which is an offense, and I have no complaints about the police, who were professional throughout."
Richard Ashcroft 's third solo album, "Keys to the World," will be released in North America on March 21. The set has been in stores in the UK since January.
An access road to Rabobank Arena in Korn 's hometown of Bakersfield, CA, has been named "Korn Row" in honor of the group. The band opens its world tour at the venue on Friday (3/3).
Chilean President Ricardo Lagos on Sunday (2/26) presented U2 's Bono with Chile's highest award for the arts. That same day, U2 gave a concert at a Santiago soccer stadium.
