Yeah Yeah Yeahs take 'Bones' on the road
New York's Yeah Yeah Yeahs are set to stake out new turf in a series of upcoming shows revolving around the March 28 release of their sophomore album, "Show Your Bones."
The indie-rockers will take the stage Thursday night (2/23) in Hoboken, NJ, the first date on a tour that will run into early May. The first eight dates on the band's calendar are already sold out; tickets are currently on sale for the remainder of the dates, beginning with an April 3 appearance in Washington, DC.
The quirky trio's itinerary includes an April 30 stop at the Coachella music festival in Indio, CA. After finishing up its US outing, the band will tackle a series of European bookings, including an appearance at the UK's All Tomorrow's Parties festival. The band's full European schedule is available at its website.
"Show Your Bones" is the follow-up to Yeah Yeah Yeahs' 2003 debut "Fever to Tell," which brought the group into the media spotlight and earned it opening slots on tours with a number of back-to-basic guitar bands including The White Stripes and The Strokes.
"'Show Your Bones' is what happens when you put your finger in a light socket," the band says of its new album on its site. "Maybe there is some of that electric current flowing through the tracks of our album illuminating us from the inside out for you to laugh at and cry to or fry to. Or not."
The new album's first single, "Gold Lion," is currently available for purchase via iTunes. The single includes a free bonus track, "Let Me Know," that will not be included on "Show Your Bones."
